February 2012
Less than a fortnight after the Costa Concordia disaster,
cruise customers are still booking cruises for 2012, although more are asking questions about
sea safety. The first 3 months of the year are known as the "wave season,"
in the cruise industry, when the majority of cruise customers book their berths.
The Costa Concordia struck a rock in the Tyrrhenian Sea just off the shore of Isola del Giglio, near the western coast of Italy,
on Friday 13th January 2012.

Lantern
Festival - Beijing
Held on the 15th day of the first lunar month, the Lantern Festival, also known as the Yuanxiao Festival or Shangyuan Festival, marks the end of China's New Year celebrations. In the capital city of Beijing, traditional dancers in colourful costumes take to the streets and, at night, lantern-lit parades illuminate the city. The most eye-catching lantern is the Dragon Pole, which resembles a golden dragon and spits fireworks from its mouth.
