7th Arrondissement is located on the Rive Gauche at the southern bank of the River Seine. The 7th is home to a number of major French institutions, including the French National Assembly and many government ministries. The 7th is also home to arguably the most iconic feature in the Paris cityscape – The Eiffel Tower. The tower was built between 1887-1889 by Gustave Eiffel, and is one of the most popular attractions in the world. Another major site in the 7th is the Hôtel des Invalides, the attached church, l'Eglise du Dôme, houses the tomb of Napoleon. Museums worth visiting in the 7th include Musée d'Orsay, and Musée Rodin. There is a good range of hotel accommodation to suit different visitors including 4 and 3 star properties such as K+K Cayre Hotel, Vaneau Saint Germain Hotel, Hotel Le Bellechasse, and Tryp De Saxe Hotel. For the budget traveller there are 2 star hotels to be found including Hotel Royal Phare, and Hotel De France Invalides.

Vaneau Saint Germain Hotel - 86 Rue de Vaneau Paris

This 39 room boutique hotel renovated all the rooms in 2007 and since then guests have enjoyed a stay in the left bank at this charming hotel. The Vaneau Metro station is nearby and so is the Eiffel Tower, Orsay Museum and loads of art galleries and old bookshops. The exterior looks classically Parisian but the inside is classically modern, and the style selection works well.

Travel Quote: The traveller was active; he went strenuously in search of people, of adventure, of experience. The tourist is passive; he expects interesting things to happen to him. He goes "sight-seeing". Daniel J. Boorstin.
