To facilitate travelling to the centre of London and transferring from airport to airport there is a large network of public transport links across the Greater London area. This network includes Express Rail, Bus, and Taxi. There is also a big range of hotel accommodation around each airport for budget travellers who may have missed flights, or business flyers with an early flight the next morning. TLD staff have previously used accommodation near Stansted, after a budget carrier connection was late on arrival. When transferring from Airport to Airport, for example Heathrow to Gatwick, it is essential to build in sufficient transfer time to allow for potential traffic gridlock on routes such as the orbital M25 and the M1 motorway. London and the 5 airport are gearing up for the additional passenger numbers anticipated during the forthcoming 2012 Summer Olympic Games.
