Al Ain FC is by far the most successful club in the UAE and among the best in Asia. The team was established in 1968 in the quiet garden city of Al Ain. The team quickly gained popularity and recognition throughout the country, being the team with the most UAE league titles (nine) and the first UAE side to win the AFC Champions league title in 2003.
Al Ain is the fourth largest city in the United Arab Emirates with a population of 421,948 (2005 estimate). It is located in the emirate of Abu Dhabi, directly adjacent to the border with Oman.
