Ankara is good base to explore other areas of Central Turkey from Beypazar with it’s famous traditional houses and mineral water, to the ancient city of Gordion which was home for Hittites, Phyrigians, Persians, Greeks and Romans since 3000 BC. For foodies, Ankara is also best known for its "döner kebap". In order to pick a good döner restaurant you should take a look at the döner round. It should be rectangular and the cuts must be flat and unseparated.
