Barcelona International Airport (IATA: BCN, ICAO: LEBL) is located 10 km (6.2 miles) southwest of Barcelona city centre. Barcelona airport is the second largest in Spain behind Madrid-Barajas Airport. The Barcelona-Madrid air shuttle service, known as the "Pont Aeri" (in Catalan) or "Puente Aéreo" (in Spanish), literally "Air Bridge", used to be the world's busiest route until 2008. This has been reduced after the opening of the Madrid-Barcelona high-speed rail line. The prinicpal ground transport is the RENFE commuter train station at Terminal 2, which connects to Barcelona Sants, and Passeig de Gràcia railway stations. Bus and Taxi are also available with over 24,000 car parking spaces.
