Other sites include: Panoramic Tâmpa (A hill above Brasov); The Brasov Citadel; The Schei district; St. Bartholomew Church; and Valea Cetatii district. Brasov is also an excellent base to explore Transylvania which is also home to Bran Castle – better known as Dracula's Castle. For active visitors Brasov is reckoned to be the best place to ski in Eastern Europe. The most famous ski area is Poiana Brasov, 12 km (8 miles) away from Brasov's city center.
