Bucharest Henri Coanda International Airport (IATA: OTP, ICAO: LROP) is the principal international airport of Bucharest and Romania. The airport is located 16.5 km (10.3 miles) northwest of the capital and it takes its name from Henri Coand, the builder of the world's first jet powered aircraft. The airport is the principal hub of Romanian national airline, TAROM and there are ambitious plans for a second terminal. Transfers to Bucharest can be made by car, bus, taxi, and train. The train service runs from the airport station to Gara de Nord, the main station in Bucharest. The airport station is connected by shuttle bus from the passenger terminals but there are plans to locate the station within the airport complex.
