Budapest Ferihegy International Airport (IATA: BUD, ICAO: LHBP) is situated 16 kilometres (10 miles) south east of the centre of Budapest. The airport is pronounced "Ferry-hedge", and is named after master brewer Ferenc (Feri) Mayerffy, the owner of the land where the airport is located. The airport has three main terminals: 1, 2A and 2B, and a smaller one for general and domestic flights. On 18 April 2007, the renovation of Terminal 1 was awarded Europe’s most prestigious heritage preservation prize, the Europa Nostra Award. Ground transportation is facilitated by a rail link from Terminal 1 and Budapest city centre, with the journey time being around 25 minutes. Other forms of transfer include: Airport Bus; Taxi; and Car Rental. The airport has a number of hotels nearby including: Stacio Hotel; Ibis Budapest Aero Hotel; and Tulip Inn Millennium Hotel.
