Caesars Palace Hotel and casino is located on the west side of the Las Vegas Strip. Caesars has 3,349 rooms in five original towers, all with a roman empire theme, - Augustus, Centurion, Forum, Palace, and Roman. The hotel also has some notable eateries including - Restaurant Guy Savoy, 808, Bradley Ogden, Empress Court, Hyakumi, and Mesa Grill. The hotel was opened in 1966 and quickly became a top entertainment centre featuring famous acts performers such as Liberace, George Burns, Diana Ross, Cher, Julio Iglesias, Judy Garland, David Copperfield, and Gloria Estefan. However, arguably the most famous artist to appear at Caesars Palace was Frank Sinatra. Apart from stage acts the hotel is famous for major boxing and epic contests have taken place there including - Sugar Ray Leonard vs. Thomas Hearns, Larry Holmes vs. Gerry Cooney, and Mike Tyson vs. Trevor Berbick. In recent years the hotel developed a more family centered approach and big time boxing disappeared in the 1990s’, only to be resurrected in 2004. A new tower, Augustus, was opened in 2005 and the success of this prompted new owners, Harrah's Entertainment, to finance an expansion to the hotel complex.
