The Cameron Highlands
The Cameron Highlands are well known because of its tea plantations. You can visit the tea factories to see the process of tea production and some have shops where you can drink and buy tea. But in this cool climate tea is not the only thing to grow on the highlands. On its fertile soil also grow: fruits and vegetables like tomato, cauliflower and cabbage, roses and fresh strawberries. Sometimes they call it: Malaysia's 'Green Bowl'.
Cameron Highlands - wikipedia
Cameron Highlands is a highland region located about 20 km east of Ipoh and about 150km north of Kuala Lumpur in Pahang, Malaysia. At 5000 ft (1,500 m) above sea level it is the highest area on the mainland, and enjoys a cool climate, with temperatures no higher than 25°C and rarely falling below 6°C year round. The Highlands were named after William Cameron, a British colonial government surveyor who discovered the plateau during a mapping expedition in 1885.
