Chicago O'Hare Airport (IATA: ORD, ICAO: KORD, FAA LID: ORD) is located in Des Plaines a city district in the northwestern-most corner of Chicago and 17 miles (27 km) northwest of the Chicago Loop (Historical center of downtown Chicago). The airport takes its name from Lieutenant Commander Edward "Butch" O'Hare, USN, a World War II flying ace, who was awarded the Medal of Honor. O'Hare has four working passenger terminals: 1, 2, 3 and 5. Terminal 4 is currently defunct and has been effectively replace by T5. However, with the planned expansion of the airport T4 will be used again. Transfers from the airport to central chicago are available via Subway Train, Commuter Train, and Road. Subway trains from the Blue Line of the CTA's 'L' depart the terminal from an underground station. Commuter trains from the Metra North Central Service stop at the O'Hare Transfer station. A shuttle bus connects this to the Airport Transit System. For cars and buses, the I-190 roadway connects the airport to downtown Chicago. For air travelers with an early departure time or who are on looking for business meeting accommodation near the airport there are hotels nearby including Hilton Airport Hotel, Crowne Plaza Chicago O'Hare Hotel, and Comfort Inn O’Hare Hotel.
