Hamad International Airport (IATA: DOH, ICAO: OTHH) (Arabic: مطار حمد الدولي)
is the main airport for Doha, the capital city of the gulf state of Qatar.
The airport replaced the original Doha International Airport - the
original IATA DOH code has been transferred to the new airport. National carrier
Qatar Airways and all other carriers relocated to the new airport on May 27, 2014Hamad International
was designed in anticipation of a significant increase in traffic -
leisure, business, transit, and cargo. The initial annual capacity was set
at 29 million passengers, with the potential to handle 50 million of
completion of the new airport - the old airport capacity had reached 12
million annual passengers. The awarding of the 2022 FIFA world cup to
