Travel Tip July 08
When checking in, pick up the hotel's business card. In the most confusing of cities, the cards often come with a little map to get you home if you get lost.

Dordogne is a prefecture (sub-region) of the French region Aquitaine and gets it’s name from the Dordogne river. French people call the Dordogne ‘The Perigord’ and it is divided into four regions: black perigord, purple perigord, green perigord and white perigord. Tourist attractions include – over 1,000 castles, the famous Lascaux caves and significant roman ruins at Perigueux, the largest town in the Dordogne. Dordogne has become a favourite destination of British immigrants to France. Indeed Dordogne is sometimes called "Dordogneshire".
