The current Fethiye town is located on the ancient city of Telmessos, ruins of which can be seen in the city, such as the Hellenistic theatre by the main quay. Places to see in Fethiye include: Fethiye Museum; Lycian sarcophagus; and Cave Tombs. The town also has excellent beach and water activities such as swimming, lounging, parasailing, paragliding, and yachting. The nearest airports served by international airlines are at Antalya or Dalaman. Antalya is about three hours driving and Dalaman about one hour from Fethiye.
