The resort is 233 km / 145 miles from Geneva and 74 km / 46 miles from Berne. Grindelwald can also be reached by train (Berner Oberland Bahn) from Interlaken.

The Berner Oberland Bahn is a narrow-gauge mountain railway in the Bernese Oberland region of Switzerland. It runs, via a "Y" junction at Zweilütschinen to serve Interlaken and Lauterbrunnen and Grindelwald.
