Travel Tip July 08
When checking in, pick up the hotel's business card. In the most confusing of cities, the cards often come with a little map to get you home if you get lost.

Guangdong - wikipedia

Guangdong (formerly spelt "Kwangtung") is a province on the south coast of the People's Republic of China. Sometimes, "Canton Province" (based on a French-derived transliteration of "Guangdong") is used to mean Guangdong. This is as opposed to "Canton (City)", which refers to the city of Guangzhou, the provincial capital. The province is now one of the richest in the nation, with the highest GDP among all the provinces, although wage growth has only recently begun to rise due to a large influx of migrant workers from neighboring provinces.

Guangdong - wikitravel

Guangdong faces the South China Sea and surrounds Hong Kong. Long a provincial backwater, the province's economic fortunes changed dramatically when Deng Xiaoping instigated his reforms in 1978. Home to three of the country's Special Economic Zones (marked SEZ below, see List of Chinese provinces and regions for an explanation) and to a burgeoning manufacturing industry, Guangdong is now the richest province in China.

Guangdong Museum of Art

The Guangdong Museum of Art consists of twelve indoor exhibition halls covering an area of 8,000 square meters as well as an outdoor Sculpture Garden that is 5,000 square meters in size. Each year, the museum hosts nearly sixty exhibitions.
