Honolulu International Airport (IATA: HNL, ICAO: PHNL, FAA LID: HNL) is situated only three miles (5 km) northwest of Oahu's central business district (CBD). The airport is one of the busiest in the USA with over 21 million passengers per year. Most domestic traffic comes from - Los Angeles, San Francisco, and Seattle. Most international traffic comes from – Japan (Nagoya, Osaka Kansai or Tokyo Narita), Canada (Vancouver), and Australia (Sydney). In October 2009, China-based Hainan Airlines was granted approval for a nonstop flight from Honolulu to Beijing. The airport is the base for Hawaiian Airlines, and Aloha Air Cargo. The Inter-Island Terminal is the specific base of Hawaiian Airlines which offers frequent local service to the other Hawaiian islands. Ground transportation is provided by frequent bus routes and taxi cab. Interterminal connections are supplied by "Wiki Wiki" buses (from the Hawaiian word for "fast"). Due to it’s proximity to Honolulu most visitors will head off to city centre accommodation such as - Hilton Waikiki Prince Kuhio Hotel, Sheraton Princess Kaiulani, Equus & Marina Tower Hotel, Embassy Suites Waikiki Beach Walk Hotel, The New Otani Kaimana Beach Hotel, and Miramar At Waikiki Hotel.
