Best time to go – anytime but some visitors may wish to avoid the rainy monsoon season, which lasts approximately from November to February. Kuala Lumpur is the capital and largest city in Malaysia with a greater population of over 7 million (which includes the Klang Valley). The city is spit into the following areas: City Centre; Golden Triangle; Tuanku Abdul Rahman; Brickfields; Bangsar and Midvalley; Damansara and Hartamas; Ampang; Northern suburbs; and Southern suburbs. A popular area for visitors is the Golden Triangle, which although mainly a shopping and night-life district, it is also home to the Kuala Lumpur City Centre (KLCC) and the Petronas Twin Towers, at one time the world’s tallest building. Malaysia and Kuala Lumpur are well known for cuisine and visitors can sample an exciting mix of Malay, Chinese, and Indian cooking. Malay food can be found in Jalan Masjid India, Chow Kit and Kampung Baru in the Tuanku Abdul Rahman district. Chinatown is ideal for chinese, and go no further than Brickfields for Indian food.
