Châtelet-Les-Halles and Hôtel de Ville are near the 1st and 4th Arrondissements. The Châtelet-Les-Halles is an underground station and is the centrepiece of the Paris urban rails systems (RER). Above the station is the Forum des Halles, a modern shopping precinct. The Hôtel de Ville is the building housing the City of Paris's administration. It serves multiple functions, housing the local administration, the Mayor of Paris (since 1977), and also being a venue for large receptions.
