Los Angeles Airport (IATA: LAX, ICAO: KLAX, FAA LID: LAX) is situated in the area of Westchester, 16 miles (26 km), south-west of Los Angeles Downtown. The airport is commonly known as LAX after the IATA airport code. Over 59 million passengers passed through the airport in 2009 which establishes LAX as the world’s 6th busiest airport.
