Mumbai Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport (IATA: BOM, ICAO: VABB) is situated to the north of Mumbai (Bombay), around 32 km (20 miles) north of the city centre. Originally there were two airports Sahar (international) Airport and Santa Cruz (domestic) Airport, these two airports were merged and renamed after the 17th century Maratha Emperor, Chhatrapati Shivaji Bhosle, to the present name Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport. The Airport has won a number of awards including "Best Airport in India", and Best Airport in Public-Private Partnership. Ground transport includes: A free shuttle service between the international and domestic terminals (runs every half hour); metro rail system to mumbai; and a public bus service run to the city centre. Mumbai airport does have hotels within a couple of km from the main terminals. These include: Grand Hyatt Hotel; Trident Bandra Kurla Hotel; Sahara Star Hotel; and Hotel Airport International.
