Best Time to go – year round location – for winter sports, and summer walking. Murren is a village situated in the Bernese Oberland area. The village is a popular destination for skiers and and there is a total of 52km of ski runs with 14 ski lifts (4 cable cars, 6 chair lifts, 2 railways and 2 drag lifts). Sledding or sledging is also popular and the area has many sledding paths. A cable car can take skier and walkers uphill to the summit of the Schilthorn and the revolving restaurant Piz Gloria. This was the principal filming location for the James Bond movie On Her Majesty's Secret Service. The British were some of the first skiing tourists to visit Murren and in 1922 the Kandahar ski club was set up here by Sir Arnold Lunn and a small group of fellow Englishmen.

Mürren is a small village in Switzerland. Mürren is a beautiful car free resort, every thing is accessible on foot. In the winter season it is a very popular ski resort, with plenty of rental shops. It also has a few sledge runs which are great fun for non skiers and skiers alike.
Mürren is a traditional Walser mountain village in Bernese Oberland, Switzerland. It is not reachable by public road and is 1,650 m above sea level. It features a view of the three mountains Eiger, Mönch, and Jungfrau. Tourism is popular through the summer and winter. Mürren has a population of just 450, but 2,000 hotel beds.
Piz Gloria is the name of the revolving restaurant on the Schilthorn near Mürren in the Bernese Oberland, Switzerland. In the James Bond novel On Her Majesty's Secret Service, Blofeld's hideout was a mountain-top building named Piz Gloria. The movie production team found the building part-way through its construction, and contributed financially to completion of the restaurant in return for having exclusive use during filming.
