Narita International Airport (IATA: NRT, ICAO: RJAA) is an international airport located in Narita, Chiba, Japan, in the eastern portion of the Greater Tokyo Area. It is located 57.5 km (35.7 miles) east of Tokyo Station (near the centre of Tokyo city). Narita is the main international airport for Tokyo, whereas the other main Tokyo airport, Haneda, handles almost all of the domestic air traffic. The airport is a considerable distance from Tokyo and transfers can be lengthy - an hour by the fastest train, and often longer by road due to traffic jams. A new fast railway - The Narita Rapid Railway, due to open in 2010, will assist with this problem to some extent by cutting 20 minutes off the journey time. Currently, Narita Airport has two rail connections, operated by Keisei Electric Railway and JR East. JR operate the Narita Express which is the fastest and most expensive route into Central Tokyo. Travel Links Directory staff have used the Narita Express a number of times and found this the most efficient link for the airport terminals. Narita has 2 main terminals: Terminal 1 (includes Air France, British Airways, Continental Airlines, Delta Air Lines, KLM, Korean Air, Northwest Airlines, Virgin Atlantic); Terminal 2 (includes Air India, Air New Zealand, American Airlines, Cathay Pacific, China Airlines, Finnair, Japan Airlines, and Qantas). The other transfer options include: Bus and Taxi, with the latter arguably the most expensive method of getting to Narita. For air passengers with an early departure time there are a number of airport hotels near to Narita including: Holiday Inn Tobu Narita Hotel; Hotel Nikko Narita; and Narita Excel Tokyu Hotel; International Garden Hotel Narita; and Ana Crowne Plaza Narita Hotel.

The Narita New Rapid Line is a new rapid rail link under construction between Tokyo and Narita Airport. The whole line will be operated by Keisei Electric Railway, while some parts of the line are operated by other companies as well. The new service and the trains that will operate them are marketed by Keisei as the New Skyliner, replacing the existing Skyliner service.

Narita Express abbreviated as N'EX, is a limited express train service operated since 1991 by East Japan Railway Company (JR East), serving Narita International Airport from various Greater Tokyo Area stations. Services are approximately half-hourly in the mornings and evenings, and hourly through the middle of the day. The main competition for the Narita Express is Keisei Electric Railway's Skyliner.
