New Delhi Indira Gandhi International Airport (IATA: DEL, ICAO: VIDP) is located 22 km from New Delhi, about 45 to 60 minutes by taxi. The airport is named after former Prime Minister of India, Indira Gandhi and is the busiest passenger airport in Southern Asia. The airport is the home of several Indian airlines including Indian Airlines, SpiceJet, Air India Regional and IndiGo Airlines with Air India and Jet Airways using Indira Gandhi as their second hub. The 2010 Commonwealth Games will generate more passengers which will be handled by the new Terminal 3. Connected from Delhi by the Delhi Gurgaon Expressway, low floor buses regularly run between the airport and the city. The Delhi Metro link is expected to be completed by 2010, to be ready for the 2010 Commonwealth Games. New Delhi airport has a number of hotels nearby including: Hotel Shanti Palace; Radisson Hotel; Vishal Residency Hotel; and The Grand New Delhi Hotel.
