The Opera District is centred on the Opéra Garnier or Paris Opéra. The district is part of the 9th Arrondissement, which is characterised with Haussmann architecture and street planining. The nearby Avenue de l'Opéra has adjoining streets with numerous Japanese restaurants and luxury brand stores. Opera is also an important banking and financial centre with Crédit Lyonnais, BNP and American Express offices nearby.
