Orlando International Airport (IATA: MCO, ICAO: KMCO, FAA LID: MCO) is situated 6.8 miles (11 km) southeast of the central business district CBD of Orlando. Next to Miami it is the second busiest airport in Florida and is the 27th busiest world airport. The IATA airport code has an interesting history as comes from the previous name McCoy Air Force Base, a Strategic Air Command (SAC) base named afterColonel Michael Norman Wright McCoy, of the United States Air Force (USAF). The airport has 2 principal terminals A and B. Terminal B handles a lot of the cross Atlantic international routes with Europe including carriers Virgin Atlantic and British Airways. Orlando was also one of the first airports in the world to be "Airbus A380 ready". Orlando is also one of the few airports to have a major hotel, The Hyatt Regency, integrated into a terminal building. The hotel is situated on the East Atrium side of the terminal with a fourth floor lobby level and guest rooms beginning on level five and above. For passengers with an early departure time or who are on looking for business meeting accommodation near the airport there are hotels nearby including Hyatt Regency, Hilton Garden Inn Orlando Airport Hotel, Crowne Plaza Orlando Airport Hotel, and Holiday Inn Select Orlando International Airport Hotel.

Travel Quote: The traveller was active; he went strenuously in search of people, of adventure, of experience. The tourist is passive; he expects interesting things to happen to him. He goes "sight-seeing". Daniel J. Boorstin.
