Phnom Penh International Airport (IATA: PNH, ICAO: VDPP) is located 7 km (4.3 miles) west of Phnom Penh. The airport was previously named Pochentong International Airport. The airport has experienced rapid growth from a modest 0.5 million travellers in 1998 to over 1.2 million in 2007. The increase in traffic has largely been attributed to growing tourism in Cambodia and the expansion of regional low cost flights. Ground transportation to central Phnom Penh includes: Car and Bus; Taxi; and Car Rental. There is currently no rail link. There are no hotels next to the airport but there are some within 5km of the main terminal including: InterContinental Hotel; La Parranda Residence & Hotel; and Juliana Hotel.

Travel Quote: The traveller was active; he went strenuously in search of people, of adventure, of experience. The tourist is passive; he expects interesting things to happen to him. He goes "sight-seeing". Daniel J. Boorstin.
