Rayong Province - wikipedia
Rayong province is a province (changwat) of Thailand. Neighboring provinces are (from west clockwise) Chon Buri and Chanthaburi. To the south is the Gulf of Thailand. Although the north is hilly, the province consists mostly of low coastal plains. Several islands in the Gulf of Thailand belong to the province, including the two popular tourist destinations, Ko Samet and Ko Mun.
Rayong - Eastern Thailand
Another delightful resort on the eastern coast, Rayong is just beginning to gain popularity. With a 100 kilometre-long coastline, it boasts several beautiful beaches and scenic waterfalls amid natural surroundings. Rayong is also rich in sea-life resources and considered a major agricultural and industrial province. Rayong is 180 kilometres from Bangkok and covers a total area of 3,552 square kilometres.
Rayong - Thailand Travel Information
Although it has over 100 kilometres of coastline, some great beaches, waterfalls and a host of other natural attractions, Rayong province has for a long time been in the shadows of its successful Chonburi neighbour and as a result only recently emerged as a tourist destination in its own right. Rayong province is located on the Gulf of Thailand approximately 200 kilometres from Bangkok. The area is a major agricultural province known for fruit production, particularly pineapple and durian – Thailand’s evil smelling but great tasting national fruit.
