The zoo has over 4,000 animals of more than 800 species, and is one of the few zoos in the world that is homes to the giant panda. Sea World is famous for it’s killer whales or orcas particularly the original whale Shamu. The coastline near San Diego is also popular with visitors mainly for the number and quality of the beaches - good beaches can be found at Imperial Beach south of San Diego, Coronado, the beach towns of Ocean Beach, Mission Beach, Pacific Beach, La Jolla, and up the coast of Northern San Diego County.
