The city is often referred to as the ‘Emerald City’ due to the lush evergreen forests of the surrounding area. Seattle has a dynamic industrial and cultural economy – the city is home to Boeing, Microsoft, Amazon.com, Nintendo of America, Starbucks, and the University of Washington.
