Sharm el Sheikh or Sharm Al Shaykh. Pop. 35,000. Currency Egyptian pound (EGP). Language Egyptian Arabic. Time Zone GMT + 2 hours. Airport Main Airport Sharm el Sheikh International Airport (SSH). Best Time to go good all year round with hot weather throughout most of the year. Sharm el Sheikh is located on the southern most point of the Sinai Peninsula and is now world famous as a diving centre into the crystal clear waters of the Red Sea. The reefs of Tiran and Ras Mohammed are arguably the best in the world for clear water diving. Ras Mohammed is the name of the southern most point of the Sinai peninsula. At that point, the current of the Gulf of Aqaba meets the Gulf of Suez. This confluence creates vast numbers of plankton and large schools of Barracudas and Sharks can be seen there every day.

Maritim Jolie Ville Hotel Sharm El Sheikh

A 5 star hotel with 418 rooms. The hotel has fantastic pools too, especially the one with the childrens water park. The beach can be accessed by foot or by the free train and the tourist town of Naam Bay is easy to reach with the free shuttlebus. The hotel grounds are quite extensive, but because of the design it doesn't feel impersonal. The generous areas around the pools accomodate everyone comfortably, even when the hotel is at full capacity.
