St Gallen is situated in north-east Switzerland in the the canton of St. Gallen. It is the gateway to the Appenzell mountain area and is a close to both the German and Austrian borders. The main tourist attraction is the Abbey of St. Gall, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Its renowned library contains books, which date to the 9th century. St. Gallen is famous for its university, appropriately named the University of St. Gallen (HSG). It is the number one school for business and management in German-speaking Europe and a leading worldwide school.
