Tivat Kotor International Airport (IATA: TIV, ICAO: LYTV) located 4 km (2.5 miles) from the centre of Tivat town. Tivat airport is mainly used by charter flights, being only 7 km away from Kotor and 20 km from the popular tourist city of Budva. Also, as Tivat and Podgorica airports are only 80 km apart, there are no regular passenger domestic flights. The airport has a challenging approach and landing due to the surrounding mountains, and is rated 4D by the ICAO (International Civil Aviation Organization). Due to this mountainous terrain and the 4D rating, the airport is currently open only during daytime hours. Car Hire and airport transfer shuttle services are the principal transfer modes. The airport is close to the coastal resorts and most travellers will choose to use the transfer shuttle to their resort, often Kotor or Budva.
