Montreal Pierre Elliott Trudeau International Airport (IATA: YYZ, ICAO: CYYZ), is situated in Mississauga, 27 km (17 miles) northwest of Downtown Toronto. The airport was renamed to Lester B. Pearson International Airport in 1984, in honour of Lester B. Pearson, the 14th Prime Minister of Canada and recipient of the Nobel Peace Prize. Pearson is the largest and busiest airport in Canada. In 2009, it handled over 30 million passengers, and is currently the world's 20th busiest airport by international passenger traffic and 20th busiest airport by aircraft movements. Alongside an extensive domestic operation the airport also serves as an important North American global gateway, with 65 airlines providing service on routes to over 150 international destinations throughout the United States, Mexico, the Caribbean, Central America, South America, Europe, Africa, Asia, and Oceania. Ground transportation is served by Express Coach, Can-ar Coach Service, Taxi and Limousine. Although the airport is near an existing railway line, it is not currently served by trains. This situation is due to be rectified with a rail link connecting Toronto Pearson with Toronto's Union Station, with a planned travel time of about twenty minutes. Construction of the link has begun and completion is expected in 2015. For passengers with an early departure time or who are on looking for business meeting accommodation near the airport there are some hotels nearby including - Crowne Plaza Hotel Toronto Airport, Hotel Indigo Toronto Airport, The Westin Bristol Place Airport Hotel, and Sheraton Gateway Toronto Hotel.

Travel Quote: The traveller was active; he went strenuously in search of people, of adventure, of experience. The tourist is passive; he expects interesting things to happen to him. He goes "sight-seeing". Daniel J. Boorstin.
